The problems with the MRI compatibility of the patient with the physical characteristics of the nuclear magnetic resonance are increasingly faced by the radiological team, whether it is the radiologist and, or the MRI technologist or even prescribing clinicians. 

This is due to the expansion of specifications for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) , the multiplication of implants , and the development or even the explosion of techniques known as " interventional " broadly , leading to the installation of medical devices. This concern is a positive and necessary evolution of risk management in medicine.The proliferation of MRI and examinations made MRI safety a priority and an absolute necessity. 

The complexity of the problem, the multiplicity of the medical devices used, polymorphism of the risk, make the establishment of a tool, easily and quickly accessible to all, indispensible , bringing , clear, relevant and validated  information necessary for an appropriate response. 

This was the objective of SECURMRI staff, the MRI technologist and MR manager, the web designer SECURMRI.COM who, besides having the idea , designed and carried out, with the help of collaborators, research required to develop this database. 

In addition to the description of the technical principles involved in the possible occurrence of incidents of different clinical situations inducing the possibility of incompatibility (postoperative MRI, MRI and pregnancy, MRI and metallic foreign body , MRI and aesthetic ... . ) are described. The references below give more information on safety in MR environments. 

This database is listed according to the characteristics, the clinical applications and the compatibility with MRI. Also provided in the database are all regulatory documents, printed statement of events, news in the area, as well as training. 

Beyone the amount of medical devices uses of notices (Indications For Use = IFU), which is instantly accessible to all professionals, the IT management tool allows for the continuous and rapid scalability of technology, capable of generating at each step forward, new problems. 

This free database will become a reference document, available to all MRI centers : it will enable all the players in the imaging community to have a relevant and immediate response to all questions raised by the MRI SAFETY.
